When you hear the word ‘Tantra,’ what comes to mind? In the Western world, Tantra is commonly understood as having great sex. I would describe Tantra as saying YES to everything in life. In the practices of Tantra, you can gather your tools for life.
Tantra is an ancient spiritual tradition that has its roots in Indian culture. The word Tantra comes from the Sanskrit words Tan, which means “to expand”, and Tra, “liberation” – it is a path towards soul-centered love. In practical terms, Tantra means viewing every single part of your life as an opportunity to expand. Tantra invites you to liberate yourself in the world around you. It is a practical system that helps you integrate every aspect of life and gracefully master the dance of life. It shows us that all of life is sacred. Tantra is the Path of Love – love of life, of oneself, of others.
Every experience, no matter how beautiful or how challenging it is, every feeling, and every person, represents an opportunity to grow, to peel back those layers, and to become more loving, more peaceful, more joyful. Tantra works with all themes of life, including sexuality, because it is an expression of our life force energy and creativity. Tantra, however, is not defined by sexuality. This workshop contains no nudity or explicit sexuality.
During Taste of Tantra, we will work with a variety of techniques and exercises, so there will always be something new to discover for you no matter your current level of experience. This workshop is a beautiful stepping stone to our 6-day Tantra retreat.
